Got turkey?

Try this EASY and very YUMMY recipe with your leftover turkey!
Perfect for a snowy, cold, night!

**Turkey soup with cornmeal dumplings**
Serves 4-5 -  I usually double this recipe.

1  14-oz can chicken broth
1  cup of frozen, canned or fresh mixed veggies
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup water
2 tsp snipped basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp garlic powder or salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 cup milk 1/3 cup flour
2 cups cooked turkey

Combine broth, veggies, onions, water, basil, salt, garlic and pepper to a boil. stir together flour and milk then add to soup to thicken, add turkey.

*1 recipe cornmeal dumplings*

1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/3 cup yellow cornmeal
1 tsp baking powder

- then combine -
1 egg
2 TBS milk
2 TBS melted butter

Stir all together then drop spoons fulls into soup. simmer COVERED 12-15 min. DO NOT LIFT LID until done.

Salt to taste and ENJOY!!

My family might like it if I had some left over turkey...forgot to take any...along with all of the other stuff I forgot.
